Dear Academy of Peer Services Learners,
During this short break between terms (4/20/20-4/27/20) while the Core and Elective courses are closed we are offering an opportunity for continuing education, Supporting Older Adults, Part 1: Honoring Their Strengths.
This offering was developed based on our live webinar offered by the Academy’s Virtual Learning Community series. That webinar has been converted into a Continuing Education (CE) offering similar to the APS courses you have become familiar using. The CE offering includes learning objectives, webinar content, a brief test, and a user evaluation. After successfully completing the program you can earn a certificate worth 1.5 APS CE credits.
Supporting Older Adults, Part 1: Honoring Their Strengths is open and available during the term break (now) and can be accessed in exactly the same way as you would access any other Academy courses. Part 2 in this series was broadcasted live yesterday and will be available as a CE offering very soon.
Changes to our Homepage
The APS home page is being updated to provide easier access to the most frequently used information. Testing of the new design and navigation is underway. The homepage may look a little bit different, but you will still be able to access your Dashboard and register for the new CE course on supporting older adults.
If you encounter difficulties accessing your Dashboard you might try refreshing your browser or, if issues persist, please reboot your computer.
Or, you can contact Maryam, our User Support Specialist at email@example.com
Term 2 will begin, as scheduled, at 12:00 pm EST on Monday, April 27.
Today’s Virtual Community news update includes upcoming webinars, access to online training and support groups, new resources and new job openings and more. If you are not already receiving our free news updates, click here.
Thank you for your participation,
The APS Team
Note: If you are a registered NYS DOCCS user, you will still be able to access the Community Corrections courses during the scheduled updates.
