As you know, the main (Core and Elective) courses in the Academy closed for scheduled maintenance on November 23 and will remain closed until the start of Term 1, 2021 on Monday, January 4. This week, we posted a new catalog for the Winter Session (CE) continuing education courses. CE courses remain open and can be taken for credit, even while the main (Core and Elective) courses are closed for scheduled maintenance.

Continuing Education for Workshops at the NYPSCB Conference

If you registered for the 4th Annual New York Peer Specialist Certification Board Conference on Nov 9, 12, 17, and 19, you have two weeks (until December 19) to complete a Workshop Evaluation (required) in order to receive continuing education credit for workshops you attended.

Note: If you registered for the conference, you can still view recordings of workshops you missed. Log in to your Accelevents account and click Show Past Sessions (a toggle switch) to see workshops that were recorded. This is only available to those who registered for the conference.

To complete workshop evaluations for the sessions you attended, log in to your Academy of Peer Services account, click Register for course, and then choose the NYPSCB workshops you attended.  You will receive 1.0 Credit for each workshop.

 Center of Healing (final week)

The Office of Mental Health’s Office of Consumer Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), invites you to participate in a survey to help us understand how best to support New Yorkers in the process of healing.

If you live or work in New York State, we are very interested in your thoughts about what contributes to a sense of healing, and what programs in New York can do to support healing in today's world.

You may have already taken this survey yourself. If you are a service provider (including peer support service providers, peer specialists, and recovery peer advocates), please bring this survey to the attention of those you support - and their families.

Please help people to respond by 5 PM Friday, December 11th
