Dear Academy Learners,
This week we enter the final three weeks of our 12-week term, which ends at 5:00 pm on Monday, March 29, 2021. If you are currently working toward certification (or re-certification), please manage your time and course load accordingly. Course posttests and evaluations must be completed prior to the end of the term. All Continuing Education courses will remain open for registration when the Academy closes for its regularly scheduled maintenance.
*NEW* Justice Peers in NYC Meeting – an Academy Continuing Education (CE) Course
Recently we launched a course based on a community meeting about a Justice Peers initiative in NYC, Justice Peers in NYC Meeting. The course is available through the Academy and you can earn 1.0 hour of CE credit for successfully completing the course and posttest.
The course provides background helpful for recent developments related to peer support in justice settings, including two meetings coming up this week that you won’t want to miss. Save these dates and sign up if you want to get involved.

WRAP and Talking About Tobacco
On Thursday, March 18, the Academy’s Virtual Learning Community (VLC) will host the second in a series of webinars on peer support workers and the importance of Talking About Tobacco. This month’s webinar focuses on WRAP as a tool for exploring wellness, including the impact tobacco use has on wellness. Join us on Thursday, March 18, 3:00 – 4:30 pm. | Register
